This year’s theme is destiny:
"Write about a time when you felt that you made your own destiny. What steps did you take to shape your future? During the process, did you ever feel that forces other than your own will were controlling your fate? What were those forces, and how did you deal with them?"
The Prize is looking for judges who can volunteer two to three hours to read and score up to six essays. Judges should be experienced writers and/or avid readers. They will be given a small batch of essays on Monday, March 26, 2018 and asked to submit scores (according to a rubric that will be provided) by Friday, March 30.
Everyone who volunteers will be invited to an awards ceremony and reading to be held on April 20.
