The Baldwin Prize is a student competition for underclassmen at Baltimore City College High School, but it occurred to me that people who are not eligible to compete for this year's award might still want to think about or even write in response to the prompt. I'll post what I receive on this blog. Submissions may be edited for clarity or excerpted for space.
See the Unjudged Submissions section of the Participate page for more information.
Here's this year's prompt.
"The Boy Who Drew Monsters” is about a truth that only one person knows. In 1,000 words or less, write about a truth that is dear to you but too few people appreciate. This could be a belief, a value, something very concrete that you experienced personally, something a loved one or teacher taught you.
What's your truth?
